We traveled to Ballincollig today to take part in the group stages of this years Feile competition. The competition consisted of three matches of fifteen minute halves so we knew it would be a tough morning's work. Our hosts provided our first opposition. The strength and experience of Ballincollig's midfield proved to be the difference between both teams. Although we battled hard, our defence were under constant pressure which resulted in Ballincollig winning the opening game. Next up were neighbours Killeagh. This was a very evenly contested game with both teams playing in a very sporting manner. Both sides created many chances with Killeagh leading 3 goals to 2 at half time. The second half continued in a similar fashion with Killeagh ultimately running out the winners. Our last match was against Carrightowhill. Again another spirited game, where our defence had to absorb huge pressure from Carrigthowhill's nippy and skillful forwards. We created scoring chances of our own but again we were on wrong side of the score sheet when the final whistle blew. Unfortunately results didn't go our way but it wasn't from the lack of effort. All the girls
battled hard on the field in very warm conditions. It wasn't to be our day but we take a lot of positives away with us from the experience. Well done to all involved and a special mention to our four Under 12 girls who played with us today. Thanks to Ballincollig Camogie for hosting the games and we wish them the best as they progress to the quarter final stage of the competition.
