REWARDING TRIP TO BALLINSPITTAL FOR U14s

U14B League Castlemartyr 03-07 (16) Coursey Rovers 04-02 (14) We travelled to Ballinspittal for our second league match of the season to face Coursey Rovers. 21 girls made the journey, looking forward to the encounter. Both teams were evenly matched but it was the hosts who made the best of their chances and led at half time 02-01 to our 01-02. The second half continued in the same vein with the hosts adding another goal and a point. We then hit a purple patch and scored 4 points followed by a superbly taken goal by Juliet Cahill without reply leaving us leading by a point. We then added another goal but this was quickly cancelled out by a goal from Courseys with only minutes to play. Our girls fought on and added another point before the end to ensure a win for us by 2 points. This was a performance from a team who never give up. They never hang their heads when things go against them but double their efforts and believe with the right attitude they will get their rewards. They work hard for each other, encouraging and cajoling their teammates, never criticising and they always leave the field of play with a smile on their faces, no matter the result. They play for the pure enjoyment of the game which is a joy to see. Well done to all the girls and their coaches.
