Our U14s made the short trip to Cobh this afternoon for a friendly game in preparation for upcoming league and championship matches. Conditions were perfect for camogie with the sun shining a little breeze blowing across the pitch. As the game progressed there was very little between the teams with both sets of players working hard to gain the advantage. We led at halftime by a single point but after the restart Cobh upped their efforts, and were rewarded with a point and a brace of goals without reply. There was still loads of time left and our girls stuck at it, scoring a excellent goal direct from a free and then adding another point from play. We continued to create scoring opportunities with a number of shots going narrowly wide. Credit must go to Cobh's defence also who made a number of goal line clearances to deny our full forward line adding to our score. Our defence also did outstanding work to deny Cobh adding to their tally which meant Cobh went on to win the match on a score line of 03-01 (10) to our 01-05 (8). Thanks to Cobh for the great game which everybody thoroughly enjoyed and now we look forward to a home encounter V Na Piarsaighs in our last league game and then it's a trip to Bishopstown for our first round championship match.
