Castlemartyr 03-01 Brian Dillons 01-01 Well done to our formidable U12s, winning their opening league game this morning. We welcomed Brian Dillions to Castlemartyr for the opener in the U12 County League. Although the matches are played adhering to Go Game rules, for a lot of our girls it was the first time they played on a larger pitch in more structured match conditions. It was a very competitive match against an eager Brian Dillons side. We lead 01-01 to no score at half time but after the restart our opposition really upped their efforts. Although our defense did trojan work to keep Dillons at bay and made several goal line clearances, the visitors did draw level 10 minutes into the second half. But credit to our girls they never panicked and kept working hard all over the pitch. Their efforts were rewarded with a brace of goals shortly before the final whistle to ensure their first league game resulted in a win. Well done to everyone involved on a spirited performance.
