U12 B LEAGUE
Castlemartyr 11 - 03. Bride Rovers 00 - 00
On Monday evening our u12 girls travelled to Rathcormac to take on Bride Rovers in their second to last league game. The girls are progressing well through their league campaign and are improving with each outing. This match continued that trend.
From the off Castlemartyr were well in controll and it wasn't long before Lucy Foley had raised the green flag twice in quick succession from nearly the same position on both occasions sending in cracking shots from about 20 yards out. The scoring continued in a similar fashion with Monika Juriukonyte, Yvonne Abernethy and Caoimhe Murphy all getting their names on the score sheet. As in previous games the team was supplemented with girls from the u11 squad and again Millie Bowles, Aisling Lewis, Anna Knowles and Chloe Lane all make their presence felt. The second half saw the players utilise the full extent of the pitch and began playing a much more effective passing game with the defenders communicating well with each quelling any attack from the hosts. The team were delighted to have Ciara O Dwyer back on the field after a lengthy absence due to injury and Ciara also managed to add to the tally of scores in the second half. Bride rovers threatened more in this half but Castlemartyr's strength continued to win out. When the final whistle went, Castlemartyr had racked up an impressive 11 goals and three points to Bride Rover's no score. The team now move on and look forward to their final league game against Cobh.
