U 13s ADD A SECOND WIN

U13 Imokilly Summer League Castlemartyr 07 - 07 Aghada 00 - 00 For the second of our league matches we welcomed Aghada to Castlemartyr on Wednesday evening. This time we had a panel of 17 girls and played a full 15 a side game. With our regular goal keeper unavailable u11 Aisling McCarthy took up the position for the first half. Castlemartyr got off to the perfect start with Elma Cronin in her debut appearance wearing the red and white found the back of the net in the first minute. Caoilfhionn Barry and Yvonne Abernethy dominated in midfield and supplied useful ball directly to our forward line. Aimee Morgan gave an effortless display of skill and controll and by the 9th minute had added a goal and 3 points to our tally. A minute later Aimee was replaced by Chloe Lane due to injury. Lilly McElhinney, Alicia Olaniran, Chloe O'Dwyer and Caoimhe Murphy kept Aghada from gaining any ground and worked tirelessly throughout the game. Yvonne got her name on the score sheet with a point and a goal to leave Castlemartyr with a comfortable lead at half time. Aimee rejoined the the action in the second half with Aisling moving to an outfield position. Aimee added three more points before Chloe Lane raised the green flag following more solid work from Ellie McKenzie and Ciara O'Dwyer. Alicia was causing all kinds of trouble for Aghada and after direct runs through the heart their defence had scored 3 more goals to finish out the game. This was a solid, confident and cohesive display from girls that love to play the game.
