We witnessed another superb afternoon of camogie today, played in lovely bright sunshine. We fielded one team, selected from 11 enthusiastic girls who traveled the short distance to neighbours Killeagh. They gave an excellent display of skill, effort and teamwork as did all the girls competing. We played 3 very good teams, 2 from Midleton and 1 from Youghal and all our girls worked really hard in each match. The girls played in various positions throughout the three matches. Our defence put on a fantastic display, helping each other when under pressure so our goalies had very little to do, although it must be said when called upon made some fantastic saves and clearances. Our forwards got some great scores both goals and points and chased every ball without giving up until the final whistle. In all they played over 75 minutes of very competitive camogie and were still all smiles when it was all over. Well done to all our girls and thanks to their parents and siblings for the great support. Thanks also to Killeagh Camogie for hosting the games and supplying the much appreciated refreshments afterwards.
