U12 IMOKILLY CHAMPIONS

Castlemartyr 04-01. Cobh 01-05 Our outstanding U12 girls were crowned East Cork League Champions last Sunday morning with their victory over Cobh. There were exceptional performances throughout the pitch from both teams. Cobh proved formidable opponents and it took a lot of hard work from our girls to quell their attacks and to convert scores of our own. At half time we led on a score line of 02-01 to 00-02. Cobh really upped their effort from the resumption and after 20 minutes led by a single point after scoring a goal and 3 points without reply. But our girls saved the best till last and after some great team play and a series of well practiced moves had raised the green flag twice within the final 5 minutes to earn themselves their well deserved victory. Well done to Dave, Brendan Art, Ivor and all the girls involved throughout the league campaign. Also thanks to Cobh for the very sporting game and for hosting the final.
