A CULINARY MASTERCLASS

A great evening was had by all at a recent cookery fundraiser hosted by one of our coaches, Justin Ryan, at his home to raise funds for our club. Justin is a professional cookery instructor and chef and was delighted to use his skills to aid the clubs fundraising efforts. All of the guests were treated to a glass of prosecco or a soft drink of their choice on arrival. Once all the guests had arrived Justin started the demonstration by serving a Jerusalem artichoke soup with sage beurre noisette and roasted hazelnuts, followed by easy pizzas. For mains, with a seasonal flavour, they were treated to Soy and honey glazed turkey meatballs, Asian slaw and orange and ginger sprouts. For desert Justin demonstrated an orange Pannetone trifle and a mango, pineapple and meringue platter, and to finish spiced chocolate truffles were served. Everyone got taster portions of the food and a copy of all of the recipes. Lots of questions were asked by the captivated audience and were expertly answered by the host throughout the evening. Justin, as dose Castlemartyr Camogie, would like to extend our thanks to all who attended and helped on the evening particularly Claire O'Connor and Muriel Coughlan. Special thanks go to Justin's wife, Christine, for being such a great host and for her assistance during the evening. We are delighted to report that €350 euro was raised for the club.
